Please read the summaries in the previous threads, The Regroup, The Fiasco, and The Storming to get caught up with the story.

For once, I really encourage reading the previous thread in it's entirety. Many new characters made their appearances, and there's a chance I may have missed something/someone in the summary. Plus, some of the battle posts were of the finest quality in FFHaven to date. It's up to you, though. [/ooc]

Summary of The Storming

Cloud, who was being held in the Northern Capital Detention Center, met up with Guardian Payne and Summoner Eden, who busted him out. Without any time to ask of their intentions, Cloud followed the two as they tried to escape the Detention Center. However, the guards were alerted by the racket caused by Payne's gun tearing through Cloud's cell door, and quickly ambushed the group. Payne and Cloud began fighting off the guards, but the guards released their trump card- the ability to "summon" fiends at will. Just as Payne and Cloud seemed to be overrun by the fiends, Payne called upon Eden to summon her aeon- Leviathan. Leviathan quickly got rid of the guards and their fiends, but it caused quite the disturbance. The aeon's presence in the area caused it to rain, and the streets quickly flooded with water.

Meanwhile, members of yet another unknown group joined the fray and began attacking Shinra Soldiers. Yawgmoth, who had been separated from Sky's group when Sephiroth attacked, quickly sided with them when he realised the amount of death this group would be causing. However, the group revealed nothing of their intentions to the demon, which was fine by him.

Artemis and her group continued searching for Sky and Kane whilst fighting off hoards of Shinra soldiers. However, Artemis knew that she could more quickly find Sky if she headed out alone, and she focused on his aura and shimmered to him. Sky lay buried in rubble in the side of a building, a result of Sephiroth's immense power. Sephiroth, however, was nowhere to be seen, and appeared to have left the Northern Capital altogether.

While the rebels sat in disarray in the rain, KOS-MOS initiated a self-repair sequence. Within a few hours, she had completely repaired her functions and was barking orders again. Since the Rebels had suffered numerous casualties, they couldn't storm the city as one large group. Instead, she separated the remaining Rebels into three squads. Squad one was to secure the harbor and the escape route- three Shinra ES 55 craft. Squad two was to cut off the stream of soldiers to the Detention Center, which was where KOS-MOS assumed the "criminals" would be held. Squad three was to search the inner city and head for the Detention Center.

Payne's group quickly exited the Detention center, but they were cornered yet again by more guards and soldiers. Payne used his gun to take out soldiers that plagued the group above, and Cloud provided ground support. Eden stayed within the doorway of the Detention Center, convinced it was safe there. Cloud thought otherwise, and darted into an alleyway, motioning for Eden to follow him. She did so, and Cloud's suspicions were proved correct- a group of guards opened fire on Eden's back. Cloud quickly jumped in front of the barrage, bullets tearing into his back. He collapsed on Eden, and she drug him inside the building that sat next to the Detention Center for healing.

Payne, however, was now being overrun by soldiers because of his lack of ground support. he quickly found himself surrounded, the group's leader demanding he drop his weapon. He had every intention of dying on the spot to protect Eden and Cloud when he heard a voice yell from further down the street. Within a few seconds, knives filled the air, eliminating the group that surrounded Payne. The man was Sky, who had quickly run from his position to the Detention Center when he heard fighting. Payne and Sky seemed to know each other, but no more information was given...

Disturbed by the fact that two of their agents had not yet returned, the Abyss sent another agent to Astoloria, this time a demon known as Darkrist. He was quickly found by Netheroth, a demon who was now unloyal to the Abyss who had initially been sent to look for Yawgmoth. As the two began fighting, Netheroth obviously being Darkrist's superior, Yawgmoth sensed their great auras while on the battlefield. He had to momentarily leave his mysterious group to confront the two people, undoubtedly demons. He quickly found what he was looking for, and Netheroth, a friend of Yawgmoth for freeing him from combination with a human soul (long story); Darkrist, now under the command of Netheroth; and Yawgmoth teleported to the Northern Capital again. Yawgmoth had focused on the auras of Payne, Eden, Sky and Cloud, and the ragtag group of demons appeared in a building next to the Detention Center.

Meanwhile, KOS-MOS' plans went awry when a group of SOLDIER snipers spotted her squad (two). Most of the group was eliminated, only two survivors managing to retreat. KOS-MOS fought off the SOLDIERS to the best of her ability, but quickly found herself cornered. The other squad in the city (three) found themselves overwhelmed by a group of Shinra Soldiers lead by a SOLDIER captain. With two groups under attack, the order to retreat was given, the Rebels losing all hope of finding Sky on their own.

Artemis managed to finally catch up with Sky, and their group managed to fight off the current wave of soldiers that plagued them. During the downtime between the end of the defeated wave and the next wave, two newcomers appeared- Odin, a seven foot behemoth with a personal vendetta agains the Shinra, and Raven, a young but powerful mage. Odin quickly pledged his loyalty to the rebels, where as Raven first attacked Sky with a large fireball. At the last moment, Eden burst from the building where she and Cloud were and cast a "Reflect" spell. She had managed to cure Cloud enough that he could make it for a while at least, but she continually worried about his declining condition.

About that moment, Netheroth and Darkrist found the group. After a few moments, the group learning that the two demons were sent by Yawgmoth, Netheroth went to heal Cloud. Against Eden's will, Netheroth used the Lifestream that flowed underneath the city and healed Cloud with large amounts of it. With the energy added to him from the Lifestream, the bullets seemed to work their own way out of Cloud's body, and within moments he was combat-ready once more.

With the rest of the Rebels retreating, Sky and his group began fighting off the next wave of Shinra soldiers. This time, however, the wave was much stronger and seemingly never-ending. To make matters worse, an old enemy of Sky's, Vincet Strife, appeared and confronted the warrior, weakening the group's front line.

The rest of the group continued fighting off the soldiers as Sky fought with Vincet. Another newcomer, an unnamed samurai, jumped into the fray and aided the troubled group. However, when Raven attempted to cast an empowering spell on Sky during the seemingly deadlocked battle, Odin got distracted form his slaying of Shinra Soldiers and the two began fighting. Netheroth quickly stepped in between the two and demanded that they fight off more soldiers, for the young samurai, though very skilled, simply couldn't kill everything in his path.

As the battle between Sky and Vincet went back and forth, Artemis found herself getting distracted from the battle as her friends began their approach. They quickly shimmered in on the same building as Artemis, and Hanshi quickly snapped Artemis out of her dream-like state.

The battle between Sky and Vincet was becoming intense, and both held their share of wounds at this point. However, Sky grew wise of Vincet's "Flash" technique, and powerfully counterattacked, pushing Vincet up against the building. With both warriors out of strength, the battle finally ended. A helicopter had come to pick up the now Grand Maester Vincet. Before leaving, however, Vincet gave a warning to Sky.

"[The barrier is] not just made to keep things out. Remember that."

Vincet then quickly fled, leaving Sky to organize a retreat for his group. If what Vincet said was true, the Shinra would have the barrier up very soon, and it would eliminate all hope for them to leave the city once more. They had to get out of there, and fast.

Continuing his conversation with Odin, Netheroth replied coldly, "I don't mean to brag, but you saw me heal Cloud. I believe we would be able to stop Raven before he killed any of us, and, though I can by no means heal someone like that often, I can do it. Oh, and I wouldn't worry about proving your allegiance. You've already done that well enough. Just look at me!" Netheroth smirked, and continued sarcastically, "I've just arrived as well, and Sky and his allies have complete trust in me!" Netheroth was doing a lot of smiling recently. It did not suit him.

The sound of helecopter blades cutting through the air alerted Netheroth to Vincet's departure. He turned around just in time to see Vincet climbing into the copter and making what Netheroth assumed was some sort of rude gesture to Sky. Sky just smiled. "He's leaving? That's odd..."

"If you say so..."

Odin continued walking, with a sort of reassurance. He felt like he trusted this Netheroth. Though he knew nothing of him, his actions in trying to perserve the peace and aiding Cloud truly were chivalrous. And Odin was as chivalrous as they came. He noticed the samurai who had questioned Netheroth.

"I think he's talking to you."

((You may have missed it, but in my last post, the unnamed samurai did ask your name. Oh, and time for a color code (I've got 3 characters--hard to keep track of.) Blue is Odin, Green is Genji (teh sam-r-i) and Red is Ophiuchus, a new comer making his debut soon. I just need to figure out an appropriate time for him to come in.))

He looked to the demon, hearing his remark, and questioned him as well.

"You're Odin, correct? Cloud told me your names, but I only managed to remember a few. Namely, the most prominant figures. You (referring to Netheroth) were not one of them. So I ask again, what is your name?"

Before Netheroth could respond, a group of soldiers rushed forth to ambush the samurai. He turned and his blades practically soared from their sheaths, dicing the Shinra troops to pieces, and then resheathing in a quick, fluid motion. Though of normal strength and weak magically, the samurai had pearless speed, evasion, and accuracy.

((I don't want to get the color code later on, so I'm gonna put the red tag in this post for future reference. If this color is a distraction, tell me and I'll think of a different way to organize my posts.))

If Raven had heard Vincet correctly Shinra were powering their barrier again, meaning it was time to leave, though he couldn't abandon a certain person behind, Eden. Raven still wanted to help her achieve her full potential, he would have trouble with her guardian,Payne who seemed adamant that he was evil. Then it hit him. What if he became her guardian? He could protect her from harms way and help her reach her full potential.

All he could do was ask, but first had to get to her.

Ignoring Odin as he was distracted with the new warrior, whos aura was normal for a warrior of his stature. Raven rushed forward (haste is still active), Cutting down half a dozen soldiers in his way. He blasted a large group with Flare, creating a large crater. He continued to run until he had reached Eden. His eyes met hers as he cut down two soldiers in front of her.

"Eden, i have something to ask of you"

[ooc]Lucifer, the color code is fine, but it might be easier to read if you just could separated the characters' paragraphs, and for speech just indicate who's talking with little phrases like

((Separating paragraphs is hard when they interact with each other. And I could say that "so and so said this", but that gets quite repetitive and tedious. You'll notice in good books that many times, it's written in such a fashion that you assume which character was talking based on previous actions. But I know that many people just skim something for the main details (unless directly interacting with the character), so it could get confusing. So unless someone objects, I'll use color.))

Odin paid no attention to the samurai. He glanced over and saw the young mage rushing over to Eden. Though he didn’t bother to chase him, he roared at the boy.

“Hey! You’ve caused enough trouble. You’d be better off minding your own business. If you do something wrong again, nothing will stop me from killing you where you stand.”

Odin’s eyes flared with rage. He stood there, his mind void of everything besides the boy. He just stared at him, not moving. Suddenly, he was jerked back to reality.

“Sky! Are you alright?”

“Netheroth, of course! How silly of me to have forgotten. I am Genji.”

Genji scanned the area for more soldiers. There were plenty left and he knew to deal with them. Genji looked to the sky where there was an arc of fire. It was followed by an explosion which burnt many troops.

A man rushed out from the cloud of smoke. He had an eye patch, black pants, a grey shirt, and a flame-red cloak. At his waist dangled a sword. The guy was hurling spells left and right (literally). Fire, Fira, Firaga--the troops were being decimated by yet another newcomer. He drew his sword from his sheath. The blade was a translucent red. Almost instantly, the blade erupted into flames and red mana. This new warrior starting hacking away at the Shinra troops, making his way to the group. Finally, after nearly 50 troops were killed, he reached his destination.

“Hurry, we’ve gotta go. They’ll be recharging the barrier, I’m sure of it. There’s no time to explain, just follow me. We’ve gotta get out of here now!”

[ooc]I don't suggest actually using the phrase "said" over and over, but just write your posts like they're stories--I do it, Sky does it, Artemis does it... it works. If people really want to be part of an RP like this (Advanced), then they should read entire posts, even long ones. Also, it seems you are avoiding using transitions with the color code, which, makes it a little harder to read... I don't suggest taking them out (necessarily), but don't rely on them completely[/ooc]

Nethereroth looked up, watching the man emerge. How was it that so many people had been attracted here, and all at once? Hearing what the man had to say, Netheroth asked, "Barrier?"

((Actually, I write them out as if they were transitions (the green moves right into the red in my previous post) unless the two have nothing to do with each other (IE: Odin (blue) had nothing to do with Genji (green), so I didn't speak as if they were in the same spot. I understand what you're saying and will consider it, but I'm going to see how this works out for now.))

The man skidded to a halt, and turned to Netheroth.

"Look, it's hard to explain. But if you want any chance of leaving this place, you'd better follow me. I used to work for Shinra, if it means anything."

He stood there, knowing that unless he gained support from more people, he would have no chance of saving anyone.

Netheroth narrowed his eyes. "OK. I have no idea who you are and if you are really trying to help us or not, I'm going to go alert Sky to this matter," Netheroth pointed over in Sky's direction, "as it is vital that he get out. If the situation calls for it, I can teleport myself and one or two others out of the city, but not everyone. I suggest that you try and persuade the others." Netheroth nodded his head in the direction of a few of his allies.

Northern Capital - Detention Center

Without warning, Payne launched himself between Eden and Raven. He quickly shoved Raven away from Eden, and pointed his gun at Raven's head once more. Suddenly, several levers burst from Payne's gun, and he quickly and skillfully pulled and latched them in place. The interior of the gun was more exposed now, and the inner chamber pulsed with blue energy. He said nothing, only stood there with his gun pressed against Raven's head, the blue energy pulsing threateningly. Cloud saw the light from over his shoulder, and recognized it immediately. That was the same attack Payne had used to bust him out of the Detention Center. Undoubtedly, it was his gun's more powerful mode. Eden frowned and looked about her frantically. Things hadn't gotten any simpler since she became a summoner...

She felt her strength leave her, and she began to collapse. Payne saw her swaying from the corner of his eye, and swiftly caught her in his arm and brought her to his chest, keeping his right arm and the gun pointed at Raven. It amazed him, really, that she had made it this long, especially after only just becoming a summoner the day before...

Sky pulled his sword from the ground and placed it on his shoulder again. He winced in pain as his shoulder guard dug into one of his many wounds created by his encounter with Vincet. What was his true purpose? Why had he come out of nowhere to fight him, especially without sufficient time? Vincet had always been a mystery to him, and it seemed he wasn't about to gain any ground in understanding his foe.

"Sky! Are you alright?" he heard a voice call. He didn't doubt for a moment that it was Odin. He walked over to his group slowly, not wanting to push himself much more after such an intense battle. It had been a long time since he had been completely worn down by a single battle; it seemed he may need more training.

Suddenly, a man rushed out of a cloud of smoke and began killing a large number of Shinra troops with fire spells. What in God's name was going on here? Things seemed to have gotten stranger in six months. Why on Astoloria were so many people gathering here? He also noticed a samurai donned in red talking with the group. When did he get here? He was beginning to feel overwhelmed by it all. And to make matters worse, it seemed Payne and Raven were fighting- again.

"I think I'll live," Sky replied to Odin when he was close enough that he was sure his voice would carry.

Northern Capital - Harbor

KOS-MOS had finally made it to the harbor, a group of Shinra soldiers right on her tail. He grabbed Wedge by the shirt and dragged him along for a short way before the soldiers opened fire. Bullets bounced off of her back and she lost balance, crashing into a wooden boat and smashing it to pieces. She quickly jumped up from the rubble and materialized her triple-barrel gatling gun again, unloading it on the enemy. The group of five that were following them fell quickly, and KOS-MOS snatched Wedge up again and ran off toward the northern part of the harbor.

"What was that?" Ellen asked.

"I'm not sure," said Aeshma.

"They're coming!" Biggs yelled.

Wedge flew through the air and crashed onto the small deck of one of the ES 55's, obviously thrown by an impatient KOS-MOS. She opened fire on the enemy again, who already had guns blazing. The enemy grew closer still, and she held her fire, instead opting to bash their skulls with the barrels of her gun. After tossing several soldiers into the water and slicing through others with her beam sword-arm, she jumped into the gunner seat of one of the ES 55's, and the crews of all of the ships jumped below deck, the pilots getting into position. KOS-MOS and the other two gunners immediately opened fire on the harbor, destroying everything in sight. Bodies flew violently into the air, and boat fuel tanks exploded from the heavy fire. Within just a few minutes, the entire harbor lay in ruin with no trace of the enemy, and all three ES 55's had escaped the harbor unscathed. If nothing else, the Rebels were skilled at quick escapes.

"That's good to hear, but we've got bigger problems. The kid might just survive."

There was a hint of sarcasm and cockiness in Odin's voice. Though generally pretty serious about things, Odin was glad that he wasn't the only one who shared the same feelings about this boy.

"By the way, that guy over there was shouting something about a barrier and that we need to leave. You might want to talk to him."

Odin had barely finished speaking before the new pyromaniac rushed over.

"Look, I used to work for Shinra, I know how they operate. Listen to me, we have to leave. Now. If that barrier goes shut, not even all of us combined will make it out. We have to hurry!"

There was a look of urgency on his face. He was sweating profusely and seemed intent on getting someone to listen to him and help bring the others along.

Genji was confused at the new arrival and what he was shouting about. He leaned over to Cloud.

"Do you...know him?"

Raven looked down the barrel of the gun, with a single move of his arm his spear tip was on Payne's neck (yes haste is still on).

"I have no intent of fighting you Payne, all i want is to talk to Eden not to harm her, if you point a gun at me ill point one back"

He knew he wouldnt kill Payne, he had no need too. He just had to make sure he wouldnt kill him.

Northern Capital - Detention Center

Payne had had enough of this boy. Relentlessly pursuing Eden even when it made her visibly uncomfortable, attempting to interfere with Sky's personal battle, attacking the leader of the Rebels and then asking to join them... Without a doubt, Raven had a large group of Rebels ready to strike him down at a moments notice. He decided to put an end to having to worry about him doing anything stupid by eliminating his ability to attack. Payne quickly ducked down and to the right, then sprung up, away from the spear's tip, and punched Raven in the face, using his gun as an extension of his fist. The energy pulsing in the barrel of the gun would, without a doubt, burn his face and eyes, temporarily blinding him. Payne then moved to the right of Raven and pointed his gun at his temple.

"I thought I told you to never go near her again!" he yelled angrily. "One more move toward us and I'll blow your brains into the street!" Judging by his tone, he was not joking.

"Knock it off you two," said Sky, his voice filled with authority. "If you want to kill each other, be my guest. Just not on my time." He then turned to the newcomer, who claimed he once worked for Shinra, and nodded his head.

"Vincet was saying the same thing," he said. "What's the quickest escape route?"

"Sky, we don't even know who he is, let alone if we can trust him!" Cloud protested, responding to both Sky and Genji.

Sky looked back at Cloud, annoyed. "Does it look like we have any other option? I'd prefer to get the hell out of here before that barrier goes down and Vincet or Sephiroth shows up again and dispatches us for good, wouldn't you?"

He then turned toward the ex-Shinra employee. "Well?"

Netheroth calmly moved in the direction of Raven, Payne, and Eden. His intent this time was not to play peacemaker (since no one seemed to adopt his opinions). Instead, as he reached to trio, he bent over, and then knelt by Eden. "Payne, do you trust me enough to try to help restore some of her energy? She will need it as we leave this city, if only so that she can hold herself, leaving you to play bodyguard."

Somewhere in the Outer City...

A young man in a dark grey Sweatshirt, Jeans, and Sneakers sat idly in the middle of a street, amidst some slightly-wrecked buildings, a bit of rubble, and an unusually large amount of corpses. All of them were dressed in blue Shinra uniforms. CJ was bored. His blank eyes stared across the, uhh... landscape (or what he could see of a landcape, which was pretty much just buildings and the street, in both directions. Glancing up at the gray, uninteresting sky, CJ licked his pinched, sewed-looking lips. He was hungry. Or at least what he thought was hungry. He didn't really know what hungry was, but, from what he had observed, people seemed to eat when they were "hungry," and because CJ hadn't eaten in days, he figured he should be "hungry." He certainly missed the taste of food. Looking at the street again, CJ spotted the soldier's bodies, and his eyes brightened. Or maybe just widened, letting a little more light reflect on them. They were too dead-looking to really brighten effectively. Anyway, CJ got up, and strode over to the closest corpse. Leaning over it, CJ got down on his knees, and muttered," Well, this is an interesting way to get food..." CJ began rummaging through the man's clothes, and came up with a few coins. "Stealing cash from these soldiers!" CJ pocketed the money, and continued searching the bodies.

[ooc]OK, before anyone gets on my case, I got permission from CJ to RP CJ until CJ's in a spot where CJ can take CJ over more easily. That spot should come soon, and hopefully I don't butcher CJ's personality too much before then.[/ooc]

The septet of elven women tore through enemies easily, occasionally spending more than a few seconds on a more skilled soldier. Hanshi and Avalon had torn up more than their share of their foes, seemingly in a race to see who could kill more with their kunai knives. Catalyna and Artemis were in a similar game, save for the fact that they were trying to prove which was better, the long- or shortbow. Lynwen silently decapitated two men in a single swing, emotionlessly moving on to decapitate anyone else in her way. Indria stood nervously on the fringes of the fray, casting spell after spell and trying not to be hit or slip in the blood that painted the street. Appollo too used magick, going literally for a more hands on approach as she grabbed the closest heads and ignited the spell in her own palms.

The raged on for almost ten minutes before Artemis could even catch a glimpse of what was happening outside her fight. Vincet was gone and very few people were actually fighting back the overwhelming waves of soldiers. Though none of the septet were even close to tiring, it was getting monotonous. Artemis had enough fighting for one day. Sending one last arrow through a young soldiers brain, she slipped out of the battle and over to Sky.

"If you don't mind, I'd like to get out of here. Not that slaughtering isn't fun, but I've had my fill for today. I think I even know where we could go."
