I think that would be a good idea so I can tell which site I'm on by the coloration.

I say yes. It's always good to have a wide variety of skins. Just leave this one as the default.

Many of the phpBB premades are very good (they blow away the old ProBoard skins, lol). I plan on using a few myself (despite my thing for being original), so there's no reason why you shouldn't.
