Treat (Fri Dec 02, 2005 5:59 am) Quote

Okay here is a treat for all of you. The Prologue from my book Cursed Prosecutors-The Adventures Of Nikolas Nissa- By Ashe Night

The darkness of the night has just closed in as Nikolas and his brother begin their journey home from town. As they set out of town, a carriage comes by with two magnificent black steeds pulling it along at a speedy pace. When the horses pass, their hooves kick up dust from the dirt road scattering it in a dense fog around the two brothers. Driving the horses was a man covered in shawls blocking his face, and also he wore a long black cloak, and as he passed he gave the two twin brothers a wave and continued on his merry way.
Coughing hoarsely the two boys run off the road to get of the could of uplifted dirt smothering and swarming into their lungs. Nikolas stands up and looks at his brother. "Are you okay?" He takes a step toward him. "who was that man, I have never seen him here before." His brother looks up to him and lets out a final cough clearing out his throat. "I am just fine. I had too much dust and dirt in my throat." He says to him as he stands up straight. "No but by the look of his steeds he must be rich or or powerful, probably a lord of some place." he tells his brother Nikolas. He dusts off his pants, and looks at Nikolas. He had more luck with the women then he did., even though they both had the same White blond hair and blue steel eye's, with perfect white skin. "Lets hurry and bring Ma this food, and get home before its to dark." Nikolas states as he stares at his brothers matching eye's, his own seeming to be reflecting back to him. "Okay then we better get going brother or we will have to spend the night at mother's." The two brothers head down the road and out into the country side to their parents farm.
The two brothers had stopped in their tracks as the carriage that had past them hours before lay, there in a ditch, on the side of the road. The carriage lay in complete and utter destruction. The once magnificent stallions lying on their sides, blood agonizingly dripping from their necks to the ground, leaving there a small pool of blood, large enough for a chipmunk to bathe in.They walk up to the pool and then look down to the stallions. "Hey what could have done this? It looks as if something had bit their necks, but the bite pattern is different then any animal I have ever seen, it is just two holes with in their neck." He turns to his brother and says, whose white skin was paler than usual. As he peeks into the carriage and looks at his brother. "Where is the man that had been driving this carriage?" He says "The one with the shawls and black cloak?" He looks toward his brother Nikolas with fear in his eyes and within his voice. "I don't know." He turns around. "This is going to be worse than that." He pause and looks at his brother, his face mirroring his own. "What happened to the horses that were just laying right HERE?" He says his voice getting louder with fright."I mean there is no blood trail and If the had gotten up I would have surely heard them." He says to his brother. "HE looks over his shoulder. "We need to get out of here quickly. Get to Ma's and stay there." Nikolas's brother states. He turns his head back to his brother after his brother had finished talking only to find him gone.He spins around quickly but doesn't see him anywhere in sight. Then behind him he hears a rustling in the bush's. He spins around again to see his brother standing there and he lets out a sigh of relief as he takes a step toward him. "Don't scare me like that." He says to his brother, who doesn't respond to him, even by a simple movement to his statement. "Are you okay brother?" He asks him as he takes a step back and still doesn't respond, a little drop of blood spills out of his mouth as it opens and then his brother fall's forward unto his knee's. Behind him a man with white hair, and dark evil black eyes like a black hole holds a knife out covered in his brooders blood. The man then brings the knife to his mouth and licks the edge clean. Nikolas stands there in complete horror and shock of his brother who was now on his knee's and because of the man licking the blood from the blade. The man then takes a step out of the bush toward Nikolas with his blade, now sparkling clean, to the point it seemed to shine in the darkness as it itself was a thousand candles. The man picks up his brother and drags him over to Nikolas and leans in to Nikolas's ear. "Do not worry, you two shall never be separated Even in death." As he speaks quietly in his ear, the mans cold breath sends a shiver down through his spine, making all his hair stick up on end and prick up. He turns his head to look into the killers eye's but before before he gets his head is given a violent jerk and he is being forced to expose his neck, he then feels a sharp prick gouge itself deep within his neck and the blood flow freely from his neck. However he didn't feel a single drop upon the outside of his neck as he should have instead there was a warm sensation around his neck wound and it was not in the least displeasing to feel. Before he knew it he was on the ground, the killer standing over him with his lips stained crimson red. With the knife in hand the man had begun to cut designs into his brother as he laid there watching. When he had finishd the man came over to Nikolas once again licking the blade as he bent over and started to carve a design into him as well. Seconds later he felt himself being flung on this mans shoulder. He look over to the otter shoulder and See's his brother. He tries to call out to his brother as the man takes off into the forest, the Branch's scratching away at the three of them, but it seemed his calls feel unto death ears, even his own were deaf to what he was saying. Nikolas tries again to call his brothers name but doesn't even get to finish it as he passes out.
