Sky battled for consciousness. It was strange to him that he would have this much trouble- had he been shot in any of the previous battles, he would have kept on plugging. With feebleness he hadn't felt in a very long time, he grabbed at the wound.

...except it wasn't a wound. They had shot him with a sedative dart.

Why had they wanted to keep him "alive"?

As Shinra troops boarded the boat, Kane swung his swords wildly, but his vision was slowly gettin fuzzy. One soldier shot him again, and he collapsed on the floor, blacking out.

The Shinra troops were not happy about being forced to use tranquilizer darts for ammo. Any Rebel in their eyes was interfering with their paycheck, and deserved to be blasted into a million pieces because of that.

Soldier 1: "Who the hell put you in charge here?"
SOLDIER: "..."
Soldier 2: "He's a SOLDIER, First Class, so watch your ass."
Solder 3: "What should we do with them, sir?"

Sky's vision slowly came back. He was now able to see blurs and hear muffled talking. A voice seemed strangely familiar, and it sent chills up his spine.

Soldier 1: "Make up your mind already, you old coot!"
SOLDIER: "Ha ha ha..."
Soldier 3: "Well, Sephiroth?"

Sky's heart went to his throat when he heard that. Sephiroth was on board this ship? Of all people.

Sephiroth: "Ha ha ha... This is just perfect. We've gotten all their main figures!"
Soldier 2: "What about that elf?"
Sephiroth: "...she needs to stay dead."

Sephiroth shook his head, then instructed the Shinra troops:

Sephiroth: "Gag them, then shackle them to the wall in the cargo area. They won't be waking up until we're safe home."

He laughed.

Sephiroth: "Won't Cloud be pleased."

Sky tried to reach for a knife in his robe, but suddenly felt weak again, and passed out.

With Avalon looking nearly apoplectic, Lynwen, the tall, silent one stepped forward.

"I think we should leave now. Together," she added, with a look at Avalon. "We have better chances of surviving if we go together. Despite whatever hatreds you bear for each other," looking Hanshi and Avalon, "you're both smart and know that the other is strong and will be a needed ally. Now, I'm leaving whether you follow or not. But no harming of the other. Besides, to kill Hanshi would mean to kill Artemis, for fledgings die with their master if they're not fully vampire."

Without another word, she began walking away. Artemis, Appollo, Catalyna and Indria followed without hesitation, but Hanshi and Avalon continued to stare each other down for a few more seconds before begrudgingly following along, if only into more trouble than any, save Artemis, had faced before.

A hooded figure suddenly stops in the streets, just in Netheroth's path. Holding out hand, the figure's low, droning voice hisses, "It is over. You and the other are coming back with me. There, you will be judged... ... ...as an outcast."

[ooc]OK, we can probably go to the next thread now... This thing's gonna meet up with the normal story soon... don't worry Razz

btw, Yawgmoth's living body doesn't really encumber him too much... If he needs to do inhuman things (like not breath so he can sit underwater or something) he can simply let it die and ressurect it...

And finally... Yawg and CJ, it will probably work if you two meet and talk or something... CJ, you can ask about who we are, and Yawg can explain before the new demon's power surges and is felt. I promise to make his character soon. [/ooc]

Mako Reactor #3- Inner Corridors

The once calm scientists were now scrambling though the long corridors of the Mako Reactor, closer and closer to the heart.

Scientist: "I don't know what went wrong! Everything's suddenly started up again!"

Lead Scientist: "WHAT?"

Scientist #2 (referring to displays on a pocket computer): "Energy readings in the heart of the reactor are extremely high! She's sucking as much power as she can!"

Scientist: "But why?"

Scientist #3: "Connection to the neural network established!"

Lead Scientist: "Monitor all areas of the brain! I want a signal if absolutely anything starts happening!"

Scientist #3: "Sir! I'm getting HUGE readings of stimulation in the temporal lobe!"

Lead Scientist: "What the hell?"

Scientist: "What in the world does KOS-MOS II have in her memory databanks worth drawing upon and using this much energy to do so?"

Scientist #2: "Sir, the Mako Reactor can't take much more of this abuse! We're going to lose power any second now! That'd leave the Northern Capital without a large source of power. Even worse, this reactor delivers all the power to the Trail del Sol!"

Scientist #3: "SHIT! That might let all those goons loose!"

Lead Scientist: "Get back to monitoring KOS-MOS!"

Scientist #3: "Sir, she's cutting our link!"

Lead Scientist: "What?"

Mako Reactor #3- Heart

The insignia on KOS-MOS' bed throbbed and glowed rhythmically- as steady as a heart beat.

Every console next to the bed and in the room was flashing warning signs. KOS-MOS was starting up on her own, accessing forbidden databanks in every Shinra database...

and herself.

[ooc] Alright, I've received the go-ahead from Artemis- we can officially start the next thread. Here's my concluding post. [/ooc]

Images flickered across Sky's "vision". He knew he was dreaming, but couldn't snap himself out of it. Inevitably, the large amount of Mako still coursing through his veins decided to force just a tad bit more knowledge into his head than he would have liked.

His mind wandered again, the Mako carrying him from memory to memory. None of them seemed to be linked, but they were going in reverse order. Standing on the beach at Crater, the invasion of NeoMidgar, the assault on the rebel base, the Battle of Mako #10...

His childhood.

...not this again.

Voice: "But to confront the future, you must first lay your past to rest."

What the hell?

Voice: "Come back with me."

Who are you?

Voice: "Back to that night."

What if I don't want to?

Voice: "The choice is not yours."

No way in hell is someone else in charge of my life!

Voice: "Follow."

His "vision" narrowed, and he felt himself drawn forward, falling, tumbling...

He was in the AVALANCHE Cloning Center. It was dark, raining outside. He looked at his arms. He wasn't himself, but one of the workers in the lab. He heard screaming down the hallway-

Zack: "You're fake. FAKER!"

He began running toward the voice, as if he was going to attempt to stop the disaster he knew was going to happen. He would arrive too late.

He heard Zack's final screams as he turned the corner and met himself. Little Sky's eyes were glowing red and he was staring at a metal chair that was embedded into the wall- impaling Zack.

Little Sky: "Let Death cover the Planet, a gentle blanket for the guilty."

The events that unfolded after Little Sky said this were nerve wrecking. Shinra soldiers busted in through every door and pointed loaded weapons at Little Sky. Sky, in the body of a lab employee, shrank behind a desk to conceal himself.

Little Sky lifted his hand, and the Shinra soldier in front of him imploded- his blood flowing through every pore in his body as he collapsed in front of the little boy.

Afraid, the soldier behind him dropped his weapon, and the same fate came to that solder.

Sky as the employee heard gunfire and knew that it was all directed to Little Sky. The boy should have been torn to pieces, but instead, the bullets stopped inches away from his body, and went flying back into the guns they came from, destroying each soldier's weapon. Frantic, they all bolted out of the center as Little Sky began throwing chairs and tables every direction- a tantrum gone bad.

Through the door Little Sky and Zack had entered came a confident, older man dressed in red. He carried a long katana on his back, and simply shoved the Shinra soldiers aside instead of cleaving them in half like you would expect. He eventually made it to Little Sky, knelt down and said something to him.

Sky's memory became distorted. The Mako was wearing off, and he couldn't piece any more of his memory together.

Sky woke with a start. His eyes flew open and were immediately focused. The room was cold and damp, and smelled of seawater. He knew where he was at, and the figure chained to the wall next to him was Kane.

Sephiroth did not accompany them in the room. At least, not yet.
