Triple Triad Cards.

My task for you designers out there is to change the background gradient on these cards to something that looks like this:

The blue card is what is in the zip, I need you to make the red card for all of the cards in the deck. The colors are incredibly important as they distinguish between the player's cards.

Triple Triad Status

In progress (?%):

check slot function (100%). Function determines the winner when a person places a card next to an enemy's. I am not using any of the additional Triple Triad rules yet (so no Plus, Wall, or Domination, etc.) in order to make my life easier as I'm constructing the code. The game will likely release with one extra rule: "Open". I will add rules as time allows.

database structuring (100%). Planning out how to structure the database and how information will be added and removed from the database. Also, integrating a win/loss record (possibly). NOTE: Though I have reached 100%, things may still be modified.

templating (5%). Planning out how the actual battle page will look, as well as any frills and neat features go client-side. Possible AJAX here, but I'm not positive yet. I will be using the official Triple Triad Board as a background image for the table, though. =)

Edit 2: Dang. Why, oh why is this not working?!

Edit 3: OK. It's just gonna take a while. Rolling Eyes

Edit 4: Most of the characters have some blue in their portraits, as if they were in the blue background. I can't really get rid of that and make it look good... Should I leave it? Or maybe we should scrap the red and change something else to distinguish players' cards?

Not quite sure what you mean, Switch. Maybe post an image so I can see what you're talking about?

I say just leave it for now, but I might use the inverted colors if the red looks too bad.

Meh, forget it. I suck at editing things. No, wait. I'm up for editing them, but i think we should do something else to distingush them. I'm going to make one myself.

I actually have all of the ones for VII in both colors, but I don't know if they're the right size. I've had them for a while, but I don't have the time to upload them on this computer...This computer would take days to upload an eighth of them Razz

As soon as my stepda finishes whatever the f*** he's doing on the fast computer (which he's left running for about 2 weeks now), I'll upload from there...

Oh, and I don't know if I'll have the same numbers on mine...I can get the cards from VIII, IX, X, and X-2, too if you want them...but yeah, I can't upload right now...

I'm all for adding cards to the original FFVIII deck, but not right now. I want to get the basics for the game all laid out and everything functioning with the FFVIII cards first before I add more packs to the mix.

Wow, that is indeed all of them, with the red cards included! Thanks a ton.

Switch: If you want to, you can finish the rest of the cards as you have been doing. The cards I have in the zip (the Desktop Accessories cards) are a bit higher-quality than the cards from the game itself (they're a little less pixely), and if you finish them I'll use them in the final game. For now, I can test with the cards Abbey gave me, and if you don't finish your cards I can just use these ones. =)

Double post: OMGZ.

Just wanted to update on current progress. I've finished the check slot function, which is essentially the core of the entire game. Now I need to create a database and a front-end for the actual check slot function. I will likely leave the game PvP for now (to avoid having to script some kind of AI which would make me cry myself to sleep), so if you have any suggestions for additional rules regarding termination of battles, etc, that'd be great.

My idea (for now):

Battles can be terminated after 24 hours of inactivity. The person who is inactive (ex, the person whose turn it is and hasn't moved for a day) will receive a loss.

Then again, I just opened the file Abbey gave, and they have the blue in them, soo... I may still.

Another thing I was puzzling over: how should I distribute the cards? I was thinking about having a cheap starter deck with all level one cards, and then booster decks that have random cards in them. The higher the level, the less often the card will appear in a booster deck.

Does that sound alright?

And then I need to come up with a price for the starter and booster packs. Any ideas?
