Name: Hajjym "Haj" Kot-tsu
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Description: Black hair, average height, Dark Brown Eyes, Tightly and powerfully muscled, though not bulky at all; Layered leather and linen cloth.
Class: Rover
Skills: Monk-ish, Martial Arts-like stuff. I'm not sure right now, but I'll probably flesh this out a bit more... when I have a few DnD books at hand, maybe.
Background: Haj was born to a nomad tribe of the eastern desert. His tribe herded livestock, traveling seasonally into the desert nation of Vellaran in order to trade for supplies such as new clothes and tents, ceramics, non-meat food, and water. Recently, there was a drought in the country, and no town the nomads visited could spare enough of their sparse crop to help out the tribe. In response, several parties of young men were formed in an attempt to find another source of food and water, lest the tribe die. Haj left behind his pregnant wife and 2-year old boy, along with his mother and sickly father.

Haj's party was on the edge of the desert - almost to the central mountains - when a violent dust storm hit. The dust was just the beginning, though. Soon, a massive thunder cloud that had been building just behind the mountains finally burst through the mighty range, setting the dry desert awash with rain and mud. Haj was knocked unconscious in the chaos, and awoke in a cave on the edge of the mountains, along with one of his comrades, who was badly injured. Haj's companion had saved them both, but at risk to himself. The rest of the party was nowhere to be found, and so the pair set off across the great range, as their chances were better continuing on than trying to make their way back, through the unrelenting barrenness of the desert and the aftermath of the storm with so few supplies to speak of.

The two made it across the mountains and just into Sylaer before Haj's companion finally succumbed to infection and perished. Left to fend for himself, Haj ventured through the countryside from village to village. A few days after his arrival, Rasenburg's armies swept through Sylaer, decimating all in their path. Haj escaped into Darkwood, and now can only continue on his quest.

well, the only thing I changed was that the desert is in the east, not west. Other than that your good.
